A Rocky Mount man died in a single-vehicle wreck Saturday night in Franklin County, according to state police.

Police spokesman Sgt. Rob Carpentieri said Roberto Celles-Juarez, 21, died after his vehicle crashed on Virginia 705 at 11:25 p.m.

Celles-Juarez was traveling southbound when he crashed about 1.5 miles north of Virginia 674. He was driving a 1992 Ford Crown Victoria when he tried to pass a vehicle, ran off the left side of the road and then the right side. At that point, his vehicle overturned and he was ejected. He was not wearing a seat belt, Carpentieri said.

Celles-Juarez was pronounced dead at the scene, and the crash remains under investigation.
