Man charged with drunken driving
Police arrested a man and charged him with driving while intoxicated Monday night following a hit-and-run incident in west Roanoke County.
The crash happened about 10 p.m. in the 4500 block of Fort Lewis Church Road, according to Roanoke County police.
Sgt. K.L. Slough said Anthony Soldorfen, 20, of Roanoke County is believed to have been walking when struck by a white Jeep Wrangler.
Soldorfen was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, police said. Hospital spokesman Eric Earnhart said Soldorfen was listed in fair condition Tuesday night.
Police said a Jeep Wrangler was found three blocks northwest of the crash scene, in the 4800 block of Fort Lewis Church Road, and James Reiling was arrested soon after.
Slough said Reiling was not the registered owner of the Jeep and he does not believe Reiling lives in that block.
The incident remains under investigation.
