Roanoke police are investigating an aggravated assault.

Officers were called Saturday at 10:45 p.m. to the 800 block of Westside Boulevard Northwest, where they found an injured male lying in a parking lot, said police spokeswoman Aisha Johnson.

He had been beaten, and was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Information about his condition is not available.

Police have not confirmed the victim's age and are not releasing his name because he could be a juvenile, Johnson said. Police are also in the process of notifying his family.
