A Fincastle man was killed Wednesday in a single-vehicle crash in Bedford County, Virginia State Police said.

According to a police dispatcher, the wreck occurred about 12:30 p.m. on Virginia 24, about three-tenths of a mile east of Virginia 608.

Scott William Adams, 24, died when his 1994 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck ran off the road, struck two trees and caught fire, police said.

The dispatcher said that Adams, who was alone in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. He said alcohol was not a factor in the crash but did not know if Adams was wearing a seat belt.
