State police identify victims of fatal Botetourt County wreck
Virginia State Police have identified the two people who died Monday in a wreck on U.S. 220 in Botetourt County involving a fire truck.
Russell Meadows, 44, the driver of the pickup truck, and Judi Clark, 46, a passenger, died from injuries they suffered in the crash.
State police spokesman Sgt. Rob Carpentieri said Meadows, from Covington, and Clark, from Clifton Forge, were wearing seat belts.
Carpentieri identified the driver of the fire truck as Lucas McCulloch, a member of the Eagle Rock Volunteer Fire Department.
Police said McCulloch was driving north on U.S. 220 north of Eagle Rock at 6:10 p.m. when the fire truck crossed the centerline just south of Kelley's Market and struck the pickup Meadows was driving. An investigation is under way.
