Man hospitalized after stabbing

Emergency personnel treat a man Monday who was apparently stabbed following an argument near the Pure station on Franklin Road.
One man is in the hospital and another in police custody after a stabbing Monday in Southwest Roanoke, police said.
According to Detective Mike Meador, the victim was stabbed near the railroad tracks in the 2100 block of Franklin Road about 3:40 p.m.
The injured man, who has not yet been identified, made his way to the Pure gas station near the tracks, where a customer saw him and called 911, police spokeswoman Aisha Johnson said.
The victim was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Johnson said a suspect, Aubrey Rickman, was taken into custody about 4 p.m. at the intersection of Franklin Road and Wonju Street.
Rickman has been charged with malicious wounding, Johnson said.
She declined to say how many times the victim had been stabbed or in what part of the body.
Kenneth Parady of Roanoke said he saw the stabbing and said the victim had a single knife wound.
"I witnessed what happened, and I tried to save the man's life," he explained. He said an argument led to the violence but would not say what it was about.
"I'm not going to illuminate you on that," Parady said.
The incident remains under investigation.
