3 people are injured in head-on collision in Christiansburg
Three people were injured Friday night in a head-on collision in Christiansburg, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
Cpl. K.P. Weaver said the crash occurred minutes before 7 p.m. in the 1500 block of Walton Road, about a half-mile from Spaulding Road.
A Dodge truck and a Ford Explorer collided and all three occupants suffered injuries, Weaver said. He said it appeared the Dodge had crossed over the center line, but added that the incident remains under investigation.
One person was airlifted to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, but Weaver said he could not speculate on that victim's injuries.
Weaver said a second victim was taken to Carilion New River Valley Medical Center and the third to Montgomery Regional Hospital. He said their injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
None of the victims was identified Friday evening, pending notification of relatives.
