Vinton police still seek church piano

Police are looking for a piano that disappeared from a Vinton church last month.

According to Lt. Ben Cook of the Vinton Police Department, the instrument went missing from Thrasher Memorial United Methodist Church at 707 E. Washington Ave. between April 15 and 17.

The piano is electronic but no less unwieldy than a stringed piano -- it's described as 4 feet tall and 5 feet wide, and it weighs between 400 and 500 pounds. Its cabinet is light-colored oak. A bench and the black steel rack that held the piano are also reported missing.

Vinton police are asking anyone with any information regarding this incident to call 983-0611.
