ROANOKE
STREET IMPROVEMENTS
Work is under way to make traffic and safety improvements at the intersection of Colonial Avenue with Wonju Street and with Brandon Avenue. Drivers should expect delays. Estimated completion is October.
ROANOKE COUNTY
BRIDGE DECK REPAIRS
Workers have started repairing the surface of the bridge on Plantation Road over Interstate 81 at the Exit 146 interchange. Traffic on the Plantation Road bridge over I-81 is reduced to one lane. Work will be performed through Thursday between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.
VIRGINIA 117 TURN LANE ADDITION
Crews will install turn lanes along Virginia 117 (Peters Creek Road). Shoulders and lanes may be closed between Virginia 1880 (Alpine Road) and Virginia 1841 (Dwight Street). Work will be performed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays.
VIRGINIA 311 DITCH WORK
Crews will be working on ditches along Virginia 311 near Virginia 740 (Carvins Cove Road). Drivers should watch for lane closures and flaggers controlling traffic.
BEDFORD COUNTY
PAVING
Crews will be paving on weekdays during daylight hours in the Big Island area. Motorists should watch for lane closures and changing traffic patterns on Virginia 659 (Hawkins Mill Road).
BOTETOURT COUNTY
INTERSTATE 81 BRIDGE REPAIRS
The right lane will be closed on southbound Interstate 81 at mile marker 168.8 for repairs on the Arcadia bridge. Work will be performed Tuesday and Wednesday between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
INTERSTATE 81 BRIDGE INSPECTION
The Interstate 81 bridge over Virginia 625 at mile marker 165 will be inspected Wednesday. The inspection will cause various lane closures beneath the bridge on Virginia 625 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
INTERSTATE 81 BRIDGE INSPECTION
The bridge that carries the on-ramp leading from U.S. 220 onto northbound Interstate 81 will be inspected. The bridge carries traffic over the Exit 150-B off-ramp. The inspection will cause various lane and shoulder closures on the off-ramp beneath the bridge between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
VIRGINIA 817 BRIDGE REPAIRS
Work to replace the surface of the Virginia 817 (Old Rail Road) bridge over Craig Creek will begin Wednesday. Drivers can expect the bridge to be closed daily, Monday through Thursday, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Work is expected to last through June 20.
FRANKLIN COUNTY
VIRGINIA 634 PIPE REPLACEMENT
The section of Virginia 643 (Dillons Mill Road) between Virginia 850 (Rhododendron Road) and Virginia 726 (Wades Gap Road) will be closed for a pipe replacement starting Tuesday. The road will remain closed until May 16, and drivers will need to follow detour signs around the closure.
HENRY COUNTY
U.S. 220 BRIDGE INSPECTION
The U.S. 220 bridge over Virginia 684 and Jordan Creek will be inspected today. The bridge is on the Martinsville bypass, and the inspection will cause various lane closures on northbound and southbound U.S. 220 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
