Friday crash on Williamson Road kills 1, hurts 2
A Friday evening collision on Williamson Road in Roanoke left one man dead and injured two others.
James Harrison, 51, was a front-seat passenger in a Toyota Corolla driven by Ian Rudd, 29, according to a Roanoke police news release.
Rudd was driving north on Williamson Road about 8:45 p.m. when he attempted to turn left onto 10th Street.
His vehicle collided with a Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Omar Thompson, 25, who was driving south on Williamson, the release said.
All three men were taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where Harrison died, police said. Both Rudd and Thompson were listed in good condition Saturday night, according to Eric Earnhart, hospital spokesman.
The news release made no mention of charges in the crash, but said the investigation is ongoing.
