Officers were called at 11:57 p.m. to the EZN Food Mart in the 3000 block of Brambleton Avenue, said police spokeswoman Aisha Johnson.
A clerk at the store told police that the man walked into the store, showed a gun and demanded money, Johnson said.
The man fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect is described as a black male wearing dark jeans, a puffy, black coat, a black stocking hat and a black scarf covering his face. He is about 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs about 200 pounds.
