John Williamson, president, chairman and chief executive officer of RGC Resources, the parent company of Roanoke Gas Co., is the Republican candidate to represent the Buchanan District on the Botetourt County Board of Supervisors.

Todd Dodson, a retired U.S. Army colonel, will be the party’s candidate for the Amsterdam district.

Nobody else declared an interest by the party deadline this week. The Democratic Party and any independent candidates have a June 11 deadline to get on the ballot.

Williamson is seeking the seat held by Terry Austin , who is the GOP candidate for the House of Delegates’ 19th District. Dodson is seeking the seat held by Steve Clinton , who is leaving the area.

In October, Williamson stepped down as president and CEO of Roanoke Gas as the company began a leadership transition. Williamson served as the Botetourt County administrator before joining Roanoke Gas in 1992.
