UPDATED March 18: Victim identified in Pulaski County fatal shooting

One person is dead after a shooting involving a father and son Tuesday afternoon in Hiwassee, according to the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office.

The shooting happened about 4:30 p.m. and involved a family dispute at a home, Chief Deputy Mike Alderman said Wednesday.

Alderman said the investigation is ongoing and declined to give specifics, such as names or ages of the people involved in the incident. He also declined to say whether the father or the son was shot.

He had said authorities planned to release more information Wednesday afternoon, but sheriff's department officials did not return phone calls.
