Chamber official leaves position

Aradia Zenobia
Zenobia recently announced plans to leave her post to become director of the New River Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau, which was formed to work with the Montgomery County Tourism Development Council to promote tourism in the region.
Zenobia said the decision to leave the chamber was not hers.
"I am deeply saddened by the recent chain of events and will truly miss serving all of the Chamber members -- many of whom I consider friends," Zenobia said in an e-mail statement late Wednesday.
From June until December, she served as acting president of the chamber following Shane Adams' departure amid a police investigation. No charges have been filed.
In December, the chamber board chose Catherine Sutton over Zenobia to lead the chamber.
"I can confirm she is no longer with the chamber," Sutton said Wednesday. "But there's nothing else for me to say."
Zenobia said in an e-mail Tuesday evening to chamber members that recent events haven't "been easy, in fact sometimes it got terribly stressful."
