Virginia Transit Association elects Blacksburg mayor Rordam as vice president

VTA is a coalition of transit professionals from public and private organizations and includes transit systems from across the state, businesses that serve transit systems and local government officials and organizations concerned about transportation.
Founded in 1977, the VTA provides public education and legislative advocacy to support public transportation systems throughout the state.
Meeting to focus on climate action plan
The town of Blacksburg is developing a climate action plan to identify how the it can reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The town also recently received a $186,900 federal grant to support local energy efficiency and conservation efforts.
Town officials are now seeking comments and feedback from residents to help guide the development of the plan and identify how the grant can be spent effectively.
Residents are invited to attend a public meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Blacksburg Transit building at 2800 Commerce St.
