Radford crews replacing main that flooded yards
Crews in Radford completed temporary repairs on a ruptured 16-inch water main on Monday night, and planned to install a permanent replacement today.
The main broke near Second and Staples streets Monday afternoon and sent water flooding into the back yards of nearby houses, said Becky Hawke, a Radford spokeswoman.
Service was restored Monday night to most homes and businesses in the affected area in west Radford, Hawke said.
Crews originally said they expected to install a permanent replacement by 2 a.m. today.
