Homeowners, get ready.

The second payment of Montgomery County real estate taxes is due Dec. 7. The 2009 personal property taxes and 2010 motor vehicle license fees are also due that day.

Payment may be made in person or mailed to the Montgomery County treasurer's office at 755 Roanoke St., Suite 1B, Christiansburg, VA 24073 or made online at www.MontgomeryCountyVa.gov/treasurer.

MasterCard and Visa are accepted at the office, according to a news release from the county.

Call the treasurer's office at 382-5723 if you have not yet received your tax bill. A 10 percent penalty, plus interest, will be charged if the bill is paid after Dec. 7.
