The Blacksburg Police Department is accepting applications for the fall session of its Citizen's Police Academy.

The purpose of the class is to allow participants to become familiar with and participate in the operations of the department.

The academy is tentatively scheduled to run from Sept. 17 through Dec. 3, with classes held one night a week.

The deadline for registration is Sept. 4. Applications can be picked up at the department at 200 Clay Street or by contacting Debbie Atkins at 961-1153 or datkins@blacksburg.gov.
