Montgomery County hydrant testing could cause cloudy water
Montgomery County residents may see cloudy water coming out of their taps as the county’s Public Service Authority performs maintenance on its fire hydrants in the coming weeks.
The annual maintenance includes inspection, cleaning, painting and flowing.
If you see cloudy water, you should run cold water for several minutes until the water clears up.

Town plans tweaks to comprehensive plan
Blacksburg officials are planning minor updates to the town’s Comprehensive Plan, Blacksburg 2046.
The state requires that the plan be updated and reviewed at least once every five years.
This year’s proposed amendments and the 2007 adopted plan can be reviewed on the town’s Web site at blacksburg.gov or at the planning and building department in the Municipal Building at 300 S. Main St.
A public input meeting on the latest amendments is set for 5:30 p.m. July 29 in the Town Council Conference Room in the Municipal Building.
The planning commission has scheduled a public hearing on the changes at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 1 in the town council chambers. A public hearing before the town council will be scheduled after that.
