Blacksburg teenager charged after driving into house
Police on Monday charged a teenager after she drove her car into the living room of a Blacksburg town house.
Officers responded shortly after 4:30 p.m. to a call to a residence at Grissom Lane and Marlington Street, where they found that a vehicle had smashed through the wall of a town house, according to a news release issued by spokesman Lt. Joe Davis. He said it appeared the teen lost control as she tried to make a right turn from Marlington onto Grissom.
The driver, Gabrielle Stephenson, 16, was charged with failure to maintain control of her vehicle, Davis said. Stephenson and a passenger were taken to Montgomery Regional Hospital, where they were treated and released.
Davis said three residents of the town house were at home at the time of the crash, but were not injured. He estimated damage at $32,000.
