A Radford woman was in critical condition Monday afternoon following a single-car crash Saturday that killed her husband.

The crash occurred in the 100 block of Forest Avenue in Radford and was reported to police just after 1 p.m.

The driver of the car, 78-year-old Glada Wade Lawrence, was in critical condition at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, spokesman Eric Earnhart said.

Her husband, 83-year-old Thalis Edward Lawrence, died in the wreck.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash, Radford spokeswoman Becky Hawke said.
