Man's body found at Bisset Park
A Radford man was found dead Saturday afternoon in the New River.
The body of Justin Edward Roach, 32, was found by two fisherman about 2:15 p.m., Pulaski County Sheriff Jim Davis said.
The men were in the river near Bisset Park when they saw a body floating in the water, Davis said.
They called 911. Police and rescue officials immediately went to that area of the river and began to search.
The body was found shortly afterward in the water between Memorial Bridge, which carries U.S. 11 traffic between Fairlawn and Radford, and the first shelter in Bisset Park, Davis said.
No signs of foul play were apparent during an initial investigation, Davis said. Roach's body has been taken to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy to determine his cause of death.
Davis said Roach was last seen by friends about 11 p.m. Wednesday in the Fairlawn area.
