Radford police investigate 2 fights
Radford police said Tuesday that two people were seriously hurt in fights early Sunday morning.
Police were first called to a report of a fight in the 1000 block of Stockton Street, Lt. Andy Wilburn said in a news release.
Several people were involved in a fight with the victim, whose eye was injured and needed surgery, he said.
Police haven't released the names of anyone involved in the fight, which is still under investigation.
About 6:15 a.m., police were called to another report of a fight, this time in the 400 building of Hunters Ridge Apartments.
Officers arrived to find a 21-year-old man who had suffered a head injury and was unconscious, Wilburn said.
A suspect was identified, he said.
The victim was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where he is in critical condition, Wilburn said.
The names of those involved haven't been released, and no arrests have been made. Wilburn said he doesn't think the incidents are related.
