Pulaski to interview council applicants
Pulaski Mayor Jeff Worrell announced Wednesday evening that the town will hold a special session July 29 to interview applicants for an open town council seat.
The vacancy was created July 1 when Worrell took office. Worrell was a council member but ran for mayor in the May election. The town opened a call for residents interested in serving in May and received eight applicants.
Council member Joel Burchett raised the possibility at Wednesday's meeting that interest in the meeting could be strong and wondered whether the town should hold the meeting in a location larger than the council chamber, but no decision was made.
The meeting will take place at 5 p.m., and council members will likely vote on the candidates at their Aug. 5 meeting.
