A 16-year-old girl was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Blacksburg on Saturday morning.

Blacksburg police identified the victim as Ayesha Kathleen Wintersdorff of Blacksburg.

Wintersdorff was traveling on U.S. 460 near the North Main Street intersection at about 4:50 a.m. when she lost control of the sedan she was driving, police said.

The car hit a guardrail, went airborne and crashed into a field, police said.

The crash remains under investigation, police said.
