8 submit names for council seat
Pulaski officials said Friday they received eight letters of interest from residents willing to fill a vacant seat on the town council.
Thursday was the deadline to apply.
The seat will be vacated by council member Jeff Worrell, who is scheduled to be sworn in as mayor Tuesday.
Worrell, along with two new council members and three incumbents, will decide from the eight applicants who should fill the seat.
They have given no indication of whether the process will be conducted in public.
The application letters won't be opened until Tuesday night's town council meeting, town staff said.
Trish Cruise, the town clerk, said in an e-mail that based on return addresses provided on the sealed envelopes, four of the applicants are Mike Aamodt, Elbert G. Black Jr., Robert "Nick" Glenn and Robert E. Wallace.
One envelope had only a last name; three envelopes had no return addresses.
