Health departments offer programs for Women's Health Week
The New River Health District, in observance of this week's ninth annual National Women's Health Week, is inviting women in the New River Valley to visit their local health department for information on the "Every Woman's Life Program," a program that offers free Pap exams and mammograms to eligible women.
The offices also offer information on steps to improve health through exercise, proper nutrition and avoiding tobacco.
All offices are open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For details, call the nearest office:

National Women's Health Week began on Mother's Day and continues through Saturday. The event is dedicated to improving the health of women across the country.
