Dawn Adams, a Jacksonville, Fla., transplant who took the reins of the Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce in September 2006, has left her position as executive director.

Chamber President Spencer Rygas confirmed Friday that Adams is no longer with the chamber and said her last day was Oct. 3.

Asked about the reason for Adams' departure and plans to replace her, Rygas said he had "no comment on the situation at this time."

Adams, who previously served as director of finance and employee benefits with the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce in Florida, moved to Southwest Virginia last year to be with her husband, Shane Adams, who is president and chief executive officer of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce. Dawn Adams was hired as executive director of the Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce a few months later.

Adams could not be reached for comment Friday.
