Floyd man dies in motorcycle wreck
A Floyd man was killed when his motorcycle crashed in Montgomery County early Wednesday morning.
Robert Allen Pauley, whose age was unavailable, apparently lost control of his 2005 Harley-Davidson in the 3000 block of Meadow Brook Road in Riner, said Lt. Brian Wright of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
The crash happened about 12:40 a.m.
No other information has been released about the crash, which is under investigation.
Pauley is the fourth New River Valley resident to die in a motorcycle crash in the last five months.
Sinkland Farms owner Henry Sink, 54, of Riner was killed May 13 when his bike collided with a pickup truck in South Carolina.
Former Christiansburg councilman Dale Ashworth, 50, died June 8 after his bike collided with a car in the town's Cambria section.
Virginia Tech graduate Gregory Jackson, 22, died early the morning of Sept. 7 when he was thrown from his bike at Cambria and North Franklin streets in Christiansburg.
A vehicle left the scene, according to police, and a Floyd man, Anthony Edward Adams, was later charged with leaving the scene of the crash.
