The NewVa Corridor Technology Council announced last week its 2010 TechNite award nominees.
Winners in five categories -- Rising Star, Entrepreneur, NewVa Leadership, Innovation and Educator -- will be recognized at the 11th annual TechNite Awards Banquet on April 7 at The Inn at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg.
This year, TechNite will be held in conjunction with the second annual VT KnowledgeWorks Entrepreneurship Summit.

Doctor's office opens in Christiansburg
A new doctor's office will hold its opening celebrating in Christiansburg this week.
The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce announced last week that there will be a ribbon-cutting for Christiansburg Family Medicine at 6 Hickok St. at 4 p.m. Friday.

GameStop opens Blacksburg location
Fans of GameStop, one of the nation's largest retailers of video games and equipment, now have a new shopping option.
A new GameStop location has opened at 1206 S. Main St. in Blacksburg, in a former bank location beside Kroger.
There is another location of GameStop in the Spradlin Farm shopping center in Christiansburg, at 120 Conston Ave.
