The van was reportedly seen at Caldwell Fields the night of Aug. 26, Investigator Brad Roop with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said this afternoon. It is not being considered a suspect vehicle. .
The bodies of Heidi Childs, 18, and David Metzler, 19, were found in a parking lot and day use area of Caldwell Fields the next morning. Both had been shot.
Investigators have asked that anyone who traveled Craig Creek Road in the 24 hours before Childs and Metzler were found call the sheriff's office. However, Roop said, no one who drives a silver or gray minivan has come forward.
The sheriff's office is asking that the van's operator come forward. Also, anyone with information about someone who drives a similar vehicle and was believed to be on Craig Creek Road the night of the killings is asked to call the sheriff's office at 382-2951.
