Blacksburg man charged with taking unlawful photos
A Blacksburg man has been charged with the unlawful photographing of another person after police say he took an inappropriate picture of a woman on a Blacksburg Transit bus.
Robert Allen Hutton, 34, was arrested and released on a $2,500 bond, Virginia Tech police said.
An investigation began Sept. 30, police said.
According to a search warrant affidavit filed in Montgomery County Circuit Court, complainants told police the suspect focused on women wearing skirts and took pictures that would show their underwear.
Wednesday, two detectives and a female employee of the police department rode the bus on North Main Street. The detectives saw the suspect take a similar inappropriate photo of the woman with his cellphone, police said.
Hutton was arrested and his cellphone and two flash drives were seized.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and ask anyone who may have seen this activity in the past or who may be a victim to call Det. Montgomery at 231-0697.
