Pedestrian struck by car in Radford
A Radford woman was hurt late Monday when she was struck by a vehicle as she walked along a road.
Kimberly Nicole Eaves, 28, was walking westbound against traffic from Midkiff Lane to Jeffries Drive about 11:20 p.m. when she was struck by an eastbound vehicle, Radford spokeswoman Becky Hawke said.
Eaves was taken to Carilion New River Valley Medical Center and then to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where she is listed this morning in serious condition.
Police said Eaves was wearing dark clothing when she was hit.
The driver of the vehicle, 21-year-old Laura Beth Cook of Radford, has not been charged.
The crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information about it is asked to call Radford police Lt. Andy Wilburn at 731-3626.
