Jurors find suspect not guilty in shooting near Virginia Tech
A Montgomery County jury has found a former Virginia Tech student not guilty of shooting into the apartment of Tech cornerback "Macho" Harris.
Jurors returned their verdict late this morning, after listening to more than a day of testimony in the case against Anthony Jobair Lucas, a former Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity member now living in Washington, D.C.
Lucas is one of two people charged in connection with the Nov. 11 incident in Blacksburg. The other, Augustus Pajibo Peal, testified against Lucas on Wednesday in Montgomery County Circuit Court. Peal told the court that former wide receiver Justin Harper was the alleged target of the shooting, which occurred about 3:30 a.m. after a Tech home game against Florida State University.
A trial date for Peal has not been set.
