• Eugene Elliott Jr. has been elected chairman of the Conference of Local Bar Associations of the Virginia State Bar. He will also serve on the Virginia State Bar Council and its Executive Committee.
• Paul Black of Spilman Thomas & Battle has been appointed a U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge for the Western District of Virginia by the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
