EDUCATION

The Waldron College of Health and Human Services at Radford University has announced the following staff appointments: Corey Cassidy has been named associate dean of the college, and Tony Ramsey has been named director of the School of Nursing.

Douglas Holmes, assistant professor of engineering science and mechanics in the College of Engineering at Virginia Tech, is the 2013 recipient of the Ferdinand P. Beer and E. Russell Johnston Jr. Outstanding New Mechanics Educator Award from the American Society for Engineering Education.

The Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine-Virginia Campus in Blacksburg announced the following staff changes: Eryn Perry has been named administrative director for research, and Christopher Reilly has been named department chairman and professor of cell and molecular physiology.

Paul Phillips, Freedom First Credit Union president and CEO, was awarded the 2013 Eugene H. Farley Jr. Award of Excellence from the Virginia Credit Union.

Adam Peters has joined Greystone Financial Group as a financial services representative.

Ann Brindle was hired as banking officer and financial specialist at HomeTown Bank’s downtown Roanoke location.

Lisa Barksdale has joined New York Life.

Charlotte Tyson has been promoted to the role of chief nurse executive by LewisGale Regional Health System.

The Carilion Clinic Foundation announced the following: Betsy Whitney has been hired as the annual giving officer, and Abney Boxley III, Nicholas Conte, H.E. Derrick and Cynthia Lawrence have joined its board of directors.

Shantrice Barber has joined Virginia Interventional Pain and Spine Center as a medical assistant.

OTHER

Teresa Hamilton Hall has joined Appalachian Power as a corporate communications consultant in the company’s downtown Roanoke office.
