Joe Carpenter has been appointed vice president for the office of university relations at Radford University.
Leigh McCue-Weil, an associate professor in Virginia Tech's department of aerospace and ocean engineering, will receive the Rosenblatt Young Naval Engineer Award from the American Society of Naval Engineers.
Dr. Julie Cecere has joined the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech as a clinical assistant professor of theriogenology in the department of large animal clinical sciences.
The Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine has announced the following staff changes: Brad McCrady has been named an osteopathic manipulative medicine faculty member and Kim Garnett has been named anatomy lab manager.

Goodwill Industries of the Valleys has announced the following staff changes: Jackson Green has been promoted to chief operating officer and Deb Saunders has joined as chief compliance officer.
Bedford County's Office of Economic Development announced its 2013-14 Economic Development Authority officers and members. Officers: Craig Coker, chairman, and Matthew Braud, vice chairman. New members: Raymond Sellers, Wyatt Walton III, Jim Lusk, Kimberly McCabe and Paul Kelbaugh.
The Blue Ridge Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America announced the following: Laura Neff-Henderson was elected to be an at-large delegate to the 2013 PRSA National Leadership Assembly, Douglas Cannon is serving through 2015 on the Universal Accreditation Board and Don Egle is serving as 2012-14 national professional adviser to the Public Relations Student Society of America.
