The former Schewels furniture store on Williamson Road in Roanoke is undergoing work in preparation for at least two new retailers.
The building at 2811 Williamson Road, across from the New Yorker Delicatessen, is being divided to accommodate up to four businesses, said Mike Sutton, property manager.
Two of the spaces have been leased, he said.
Easy Home, a rent-to-own furniture, appliance and electronics franchise, will open Nov. 2, said franchisee Jerry Marshall.
Marshall also has signed a lease to open a mattress store, he said. It won't open for four to six months, he said.
Those two stores will take up half the building, Sutton said. The other half is available for lease.
The building hasn't had a permanent retailer since 2008, when Schewels moved to Ferncliff Avenue.
