Virginia Furniture Market Express store now open in Bedford

Virginia Furniture Market Express has opened its new store adjacent to Walmart on Independence Boulevard in Bedford.

The 22,000-square-foot building (formerly Taylor Brothers building supply) has a 10,000-square-foot showroom and a 12,000-square-foot warehouse. The property sits on nearly 7 acres, giving the store room to expand should it need to, company President Joel Shepherd said.

The store will carry Virginia Furniture Market's best-selling items, Shepherd said.

Virginia Furniture Market is based in Rocky Mount, where it has lines of home furnishings, kids and teen furniture, wall decor, lamps and accent furniture as well as an outlet.

The Bedford store will help the company reach the Bedford, Forest and Lynchburg markets, Shepherd said.
