Frozen yogurt store Bloop to relocate from Hunting Hills Station

A frozen yogurt store that opened more than a year ago at Hunting Hills Station on U.S. 220 has closed but plans to reopen in another location.

Bloop founder and CEO Josh Oppenheimer said this week that the location of the store, in a small strip of retail just below Starbucks and Chick-fil-A on Franklin Road, was problematic. There is no access to the store from the southbound lanes, and there are only 11 parking spots. In addition, there was not a lot of foot traffic because of the vacancies at the building, Oppenheimer said.

“It created a bad mix,” Oppenheimer said. “For [store owner Ryan Schwartz] to be successful, he needed a better location.”

Oppenheimer said they have chosen a new location, but he would not say where because the lease hasn’t been signed.

The Bloop on Hardy Road in Vinton remains open.
