A company that builds and remodels residential bathrooms and kitchens is moving from Roanoke County to Salem.

Better Bathrooms and Kitchens plans to leave its current showroom at Promenade Park on Electric Road for a free-standing building at 30 W. Main St. in Salem, said business owner Tracy White. The building formerly housed the Olde Salem Country Store.

White said he expects to move into the new building Oct. 1. The Promenade Park store will remain open until the end of September.

White was a sales representative and manager for Better Bathrooms and Kitchens for six years. He bought the business a year and a half ago, he said.

  • Roanoke-based Advance Auto Parts opened its 4,000th store this week in Montgomery, N.Y. Advance said it has added more than 3,000 stores to its operations since 1995, through new store openings and acquisitions.
