New brewery with tasting room coming to Troutville in August

A new brewery is slated to open in late August in Troutville.

The Flying Mouse Brewery will be located in the former Architectural Products building off Valley Road.

The building will hold the brewery and a tasting room with a bar, said Frank Moeller, who owns the brewery with his wife, Debbie Moeller, and friend John Garrett. “We hope to partner with local restaurants for food,” he said. Eventually they want to hold outdoor events as well.

The site offers easy accessibility to the Appalachian Trail and the TransAmerica 76 Bicycle route. “The potential is there for a good business from travelers along both when the word gets out,” Moeller said.
