A used book store is slated to open Saturday in Roanoke’s Wasena neighborhood.
The Main Street Bookworm, near Brandon Avenue and Main Street Southwest, is owned by Steve Padgett and his wife, Penni.
The Padgetts are voracious readers and have stocked the store with books they have collected over the years. As that inventory is sold, they will buy books from customers.
Steve Padgett’s mother operated a dog-grooming business in the building for 30 years. The business was sold to Padgett’s aunt, and later his sister, who moved it just down the street where it continues to operate.
