Roanoke police are confirming the identity of a man found dead this morning in a yard in the 400 block of Liberty Road, but say they do not suspect anything criminal was connected to his death.
 
Police department spokeswoman Aisha Johnson said officers received a call about a body next to the road at 6:46 a.m. The man was taken to the medical examiner, who will officially determine the cause of death. Johnson said initial indications are that the incident "does not appear to be criminal in nature."
 
She said officers are notifying the man's family.
