Roanoke house fire ruled arson
A Roanoke house fire that sent one person the hospital this morning has been ruled arson, a fire department spokeswoman said.
Firefighters responded to a house fire in the 1100 block of 12th Street Southeast at about 8:30 this morning, spokeswoman Tiffany Bradbury said.
Crews saw thick smoke coming from the front of the house and a person outside told them someone was still in the house.
Firefighters rescued that person, who was taken to a hospital with smoke inhalation. The person's name was not released, and information on their condition was not available.
Investigators have a suspect, but no one has been arrested, Bradbury said.
The fire caused about $25,000 in damage to the one-and-a-half-story house.
