Roanoke City police are investigating an aggravated assault that occurred this afternoon, spokeswoman Aisha Johnson said in a release.

Police responded to the 1000 block of 35th Street Northwest at 2:43 p.m. Their investigation revealed that a man was shot while in a vehicle in the area. Police said the victim exited the vehicle and ran to the 3600 block of Donna Drive Northwest.

No arrests have been made in the assault. Anyone with information should call 853-5959 or Crime Line at 344-8500.
