A tractor-trailer wreck has shut down westbound traffic on U.S. 460 in Bedford County, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

The incident happened near Merriman Road, VDOT said. Both westbound lanes are closed, and traffic is backed up about 2 miles.

Traffic is being detoured onto Timber Ridge Road, VDOT reported.
