Fire damages Botetourt County home

Fire damaged a Botetourt County home early this morning, but caused no injuries.

Crews were called to the Blue Ridge residence in the 200 block of Heritage Drive just after 6 a.m., according to Blue Ridge Volunteer Fire Department Lt. Brandon Kitts.

Firefighters from four localities arrived to find flames and smoke showing from the rear of the home. Both adult occupants were already outside, Kitts said.

The fire was contained within 45 minutes, but not before the house and a porch sustained moderate damage, Kitts said. No one was injured in the blaze.

Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire, and a damage estimate was not immediately available.

Kitts said the occupants would likely be displaced due to the damage.
