Authorities in Giles County issued a water boil notice Monday afternoon because an equipment failure is allowing unfiltered water to enter the drinking stream in that area.
 
The Giles County Public Service Authority said in the notice that technicians have ordered parts for repairs of the county's water treatment plant.
 
The advisory would be effective for at least week, the notice said, even though the equipment failure at the plant was expected to be resolved within two to three days.
