A Narrows man died after running a stop sign with his scooter and being struck by a car about 7 p.m. Tuesday in Giles County, according to Virginia State Police.

Denny Boyden Williams, 36, was riding his scooter on Virginia 643. He ran a stop sign, and a Subaru Legacy driving west on U.S. 460 between Narrows and Rich Creek struck him, police said. Williams died at the scene.

Police did not have any information this afternoon about the identity of the Subaru driver or whether charges have been placed.
